The Thing (2011); Witness the origins of the alien infection in this prequel to the 1982 John Carpenter classic

John Carpenter fans get ready to see the new 2011 version of The Thing. But it is not a remake of Carpenter's original 1982 classic. This movie is a prequel to the 1982 classic that explains the backstories of the Norwegian camp on what happened and where the first Alien incident happened before we go to the 1982 John Carpenter classic. Now for the review of this movie. John Carpenter's The Thing was a really good Horror film in the early 80's I was amazed with JC's movie because when I watched it first I was amazed with the movie itself and everything was perfect for that movie the special and practical effects were one of the things that amazed me a lot with that film and John Carpenter seriously knows what he's doing with his work on that film. For the 2011 prequel the fans are seriously up on their sleeves to watch this film because they find that the entire film is looking neat and awesome. When I watched the 2011 prequel I was seriously amazed with the film. It pays homage to the 1982 John Carpenter classic because it followed the entire concept and it is faithful to the 1982 John Carpenter classic.
This prequel to the 1982 John Carpenter classic is a fresh and clean version of that film and it really had a lot of explanations that are easy to follow and it followed the footsteps of the 1982 classic with the same kind of feel as the original but done in a new style because the 1982 John Carpenter classic was done in an old school style and everything that the film carries is that this movie had the exact same feel as the original and the music is much more newer in this prequel compared to the 1982 classic.
This version really had the right amount of tension and scares. All of the genuine spooks and scares are really effective for this movie the concept is pretty neat and nice while the other good things about this film is that the movie is shot in a cleaner and nice way like the 1982 classic. Usually I really enjoyed this film and there are differences between this version along with the 1982 John Carpenter classic. The differences with this version is that the 1982 John Carpenter classic has the unbelievable sense of paranoia while this version has the same paranoia feel but it also has the unbelievable sense of claustrophobia which makes the movie look good and it really fits well to the movie.
What's different also to this movie is that the film's special effects are mixed in this version compared to the 1982 classic. Unlike the 1982 classic that film uses special and practical effects and the effects were really good and controlled and it was really perfect for the entire film and it made the movie look good. This version uses mixed effects mainly because the effects on this film are practical and special effects mixed with CGI effects there are certain scenes where the CGI needs to be used like the picture here of the two headed aliens that scene uses CGI because practical effects sometimes is difficult and the use of CG is really important when you work on these kinds of movies and all the monsters in this movie are really creative and it is seriously true art and every alien in this film look neat and amazing as well.

All of the effects were wonderful and really crafted and I didn't find any of the CGI to be distracting overall and I just don't get the reason on why CGI is not good for movies at all. I mean CGI is really important when you work on these kinds of movies because what you can do in the early times can't be done again in the modern world and you really must use CGI in many important ways and CGI sometimes doesn't make the movie look ugly at all but in certain movies it makes the film look bad and ugly although I never had problems with the CGI in this movie and it really fits well for this movie and the CGI was never distracting at all when I watched this film and it was perfect for the movie after all. The music by Marco Beltrami is really nice and I also like the idea that the main theme of the 1982 classic was used in the last part of the film and it is a perfect start for the 1982 classic when that song played in the ending. Director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. seriously did a good job with his directing with this movie and he pays homage to John Carpenter when he made this film along with writer Eric Heisserer(who also did a good job with his writing on Final Destination 5 and A Nightmare On Elm Street remake)and Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. followed John Carpenter's footsteps when he made this film and I seriously like the way he worked on this movie and he really followed Carpenter's footsteps for some reason and he succeeded when he made this film and I'm proud with it so far and overall this prequel to the 1982 classic is a really big success and it is a perfect prequel to the 1982 classic.
